1. Introduction

Vibe Egypt (“Vibe”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) operates vibe-egypt.com and any associated mobile applications (collectively, the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect about you when you use the Platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are based in Cairo, Egypt. By using the Platform you accept the practices described in this policy.

2. Data we collect

We collect information in three ways: information you give us directly, information we collect automatically, and information we receive from third parties.

Information you give us: When you register, fill in a contact or concierge form, submit a venue application, or subscribe to our newsletter, you provide us with data such as your name, email address, phone number, and any preferences or notes you include in form fields.

Information we collect automatically: When you visit the Platform we collect standard log data including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 4).

Information from third parties: If you choose to log in or share via a social platform (Instagram, Google, etc.) we may receive basic profile information from that platform in accordance with their policies.

3. How we use your data

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide and improve the Platform and its features.
  • To process concierge and partner applications and respond to enquiries.
  • To send newsletters, event updates, and promotional communications where you have consented to receive them.
  • To analyse usage patterns and improve our content editorial decisions.
  • To detect, investigate and prevent fraudulent or illegal activity.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles for external platforms.

4. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience on the Platform. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use:

  • Essential cookies: Required for the Platform to function. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors use the Platform (e.g. which pages are popular, where users drop off). We use privacy-friendly analytics tools and do not share this data with ad networks.
  • Preference cookies: Remember your settings (e.g. preferred city, notification preferences).

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform.

5. How we store and protect your data

Your data is stored on servers located in the EU and/or Egypt. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These measures include encryption of data in transit (TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

6. Data sharing

We share your data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We use third-party companies to help operate the Platform (e.g. hosting, email, analytics). These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by contractual data processing agreements.
  • Business transfers: If Vibe is acquired or merges with another organisation, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Vibe, our users, or the public.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restriction: Ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
  • Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Opt out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

8. Children

The Platform is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Nightlife venues listed on the Platform typically have minimum age requirements enforced at the door — please comply with local laws and venue policies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where changes are material, notify registered users by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
